Genuine Ohlins Factory 1978-1985 Shock Rebuild Seal Kit for the Remote and Piggy-Back RESERVOIR Twin shocks.

THESE REBUILD KITS ARE FOR ALL OHLINS TWIN SHOCKS, HUSQVARNA, CAN-AM, SUZUKI, YAMAHA, etc. ALL INTERNAL PARTS OF THE TWIN SHOCKS ARE THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THE OHLINS "ITC" OF 1983-85.

THIS REBUILD KIT CONTAINS THE PARTS TO REBUILD (2) SHOCKS. 

 Kits consists of - 2 ea - reservoir teflon bands, 2 ea - shock piston bands, 2 ea - internal bump rubber, 2 ea  shock seal assembly heads, 2 ea  shock scrapers, 2 ea - Reservoir Cap O-rings, 2 ea - Reservoir piston O-rings and supplementary parts - circlips, o-rings etc - 2 Ohlins Decals.

NOTE: The gold end caps must be checked when re-building your rear shocks.

  In 1985 Ohlins stopped making the early style Seal heads (1978-1982) for the remote reservoir and early piggyback shocks.  A new design was used on the New 1983-1985 Husqvarna Ohlins "ITC" style rear shock that was superior and retro fitted back to all Ohlins Twin Shocks, 1978 and newer.  

To kit or reseal a pair of earlier style Ohlins, all you needed to do to accomodate this better seal head was to go to the later Gold colored shock body end cap. Not a big difference, it is 6mm deeper, but the early gold end caps will not seat flush on the shock body once the new seal heads are used.

This later Piggyback end cap may already be on your early remote Ohlins. It is identified by light gold color and a body groove (this groove allows for a much easier removal). The earlier caps were a simple, low profile design, more difficult to remove, as you have to dig in between the cap and body to tap out of body.
